The Blog

Happy Fit Diaries is a personal blog maintained by Kim Brenton.  It's about finding balance and fully enjoying a healthy, happy, and stylish life.

Fitness

I don't believe in sacrificing everything you love to be healthy.  I believe you should eat for health, not vanity.  I don't calorie count and I'm not afraid of a few carbs.  I workout hard and eat well overall.  And I fully enjoy the occasional cupcake- without feeling guilty.  As a disclaimer, I am not a medical doctor, licensed nutritionist, or certified personal trainer.  I am simply sharing what I love in exercise and food.  If you decide to try my workouts or recipes, you do so at your own risk.

Style

I rarely use the term "fashion" because, as I'm sure you've heard "You can buy fashion, but you can't buy style".  I believe in being "stylish" rather than "fashionable" because, in my opinion, designer labels are not a prerequisite to style.

I believe anyone can be stylish- even in a t-shirt and jeans.  It all comes down to the details- fit, material, accessories, and most importantly, confidence.  My goal is to share with you my attempts of pulling together simple, stylish looks on an "every day" person budget and time.  As a disclosure, all my opinions and reviews (clothing, food, shopping wishlists, etc.) are my own and never of the request of a company.

Meet Kim

Hi there!  My name is Kim Brenton. I am a former national level NPC competitor and was pretty involved in the fitness industry for a while. I have a background in Journalism and have worked in Women's Designer Collections at Nordstrom, where I had the wonderful opportunity of styling some of my favorite designers, including 3.1 Phillip Lim, Armani Collezioni, Blumarine, Temperly London, Tracy Reese, Gryphon, and Alice & Olivia, just to name a few.

Now, as a wife and mother of two little ones, I am finding balance in all areas of my life.  Gone are two-a-days in the gym or wearing designer labels and much jewelery.  I now include fitness and style in my life- not the other way around.  My life is much more fulfilling and happy in this "in-between" area.

"Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear.  Is not life more than food and the body more than clothes?"  Matthew 6:25
