First there were leggings, then jeggings, but my personal fave are treggings. They are fitted through the legs and thighs like leggings, but the material is thicker- like a pair of trousers.  I particularly love this pair because of the velvet textured detailing.  Since these treggings are constructed from such a rich, textured fabric, I paired it with a sheer blouse with according pleating in the back.

I absolutely love leather bags.  I love the texture of a quality leather bag, and how it ages.  They are one of the few materials that actually improve with age, as long as you take good care of them.  This is one of my faves- a buttery soft Linea Pelle leather bag.  I call it my biker bag because of the classic jet black leather that reminds me of a motorcycle jacket, zipper detailing and long leather fringe.  Who knew a leather bag could be so sexy?  Oh wait, I did.

I hate to admit it, but more often than I’d like, I do end up spending all day in workout apparel.  So it only made sense to do an outfit post featuring workout apparel, right?  Just because you’re sweating it out and hopefully hitting it hard, doesn’t mean you can’t look somewhat cute doing so.

For me, comfort is the first thing I look for in workout apparel.  I get incredibly hot, sweaty, and tired during every one of my workouts, so my attire has to be light, airy, and comfy.

I love the softness and looseness of this top as well as the back detail.  As for my Chuck Taylors, well, they pull double duty.  They’re a must for my old school leg days- I don’t squat or deadlift in running shoes or cross trainers.  You can read about why here.  And they’re stylish enough to wear outside the gym as well.   Keep an eye out for these Chucks, as I’m sure they’ll be making multiple appearances in future outfit posts.

I love linen.  It’s one of my favorite summer fabrics.  It’s light and airy, durable, and takes color beautifully.  I was in a simple, no-fuss kind of mood that day, so I paired it with a sheer racerback tank, white bubble necklace, and neutral accessories to keep it clean, yet casual.

I’m partial to neutrals.  I have a closet full of blacks, whites, and tans.  There’s just something so classic and clean about neutrals, and I love them even more all mixed together.

And leather bags?  Well, let’s just say I have a bit of a love affair with leather bags.  I have a small collection- quality over quantity, that I predict will never stop growing.  There’s just something special about a well made, hand crafted leather bag- the texture, the scent, the way it ages so beautifully.  This one is particularly special to me because it comes from an amazing company out of the Netherlands.  Their leather bags, and their company, have a special story.  You can read about it here.

How old is too old for a little sparkle?  I say never, because you’re only as old as you feel!  Although I turn the big 3-0 today, I still don’t quite feel like a grown up yet.  So let’s sparkle a little while longer, shall we?

I’ve always loved nautical-inspired looks.  The stripes, the clean lines, the hint of European sophistication.  It’s a classic look that never goes out of style. 

When selecting clothing pieces- no matter the price point- I always look for the details that make it special. 

Blue & White Striped Tank- I chose this piece because of it's mixed media fabric, clean stripe print, and a sweet little detail.  The front of the tank is polyester.  It has a charming lustrous quality to it.  I especially love the fold detail right in the middle of the scooped neckline and the way the fabric drapes from that fold.  The back of the tank is a contrasting stretch-knit racerback- giving the tank an instantly casual feel.

Black Blazer- This is one of my favorite pieces from my closet.  I was looking for a blazer that was structured enough to be professional, yet fitted enough to be feminine.  I also wanted some special detail to make it a bit more interesting than your typical black blazer.  In this case, it was the large, round, gold buttons.
